I have been interested in photography for more than 40 years. When I was about eight years old my father let me take a few pictures with the family camera, developed the film, then let me see what I produced in the way of a picture, which I was quite impressed with.
When I started taking photography courses in youth workshops and in grade school while growing up in Los Angeles I learned about the interesting aspects of the art, eventually leading me to becoming a photographer and editor on the student production staff of my high school yearbook during my senior year.
My experiences with video and film making came later, mostly learning from my paternal grandmother, who served as our family film maker during the course of her long lifetime. "Nana," as we affectionately called her, wished for me to take her place in that aspect and I know she would have been quite impressed with the digital format that we have today.
While still in Los Angeles and after moving on to Atlanta I took college courses in broadcating, english, journalism, and continued with photography at Los Angeles City College, Clark (Atlanta University) College and the Atlanta Art Institute while working toward a degree in commercial art with a concentration in photojournalism.
Work experience has included photo runner/stringer assignments with the Atlanta Journal/Constitution as well as a few freelance assignments periodically over a time period of about four years.
I am a member of the International Freelance Photographers Organization and study many related topics on many websites and print publications to include Digital Journalist. I am always open for discussion and the sharing of ideas in all aspects of digital media production and welcome them at anytime.
